Cooling your hotend properly reduces heat creep and prevents clogs. Thermal paste should be used between the heat break and heat sink to maximise the cooling effect of your hotend fan.
Each packet contains 0.5g of thermal paste, which doesn't sound a lot, but is more than enough for one printer!
